SPRINGFIELD – When you have a mother of four – including a set of triplets – in charge of things, you expect her to be organized and budget-minded.
That’s the impression the Illinois State Fair’s first-year manager, Rebecca Clark, wants you to have about the 2022 fair, which begins Thursday.
She’s holding the line on ticket prices, with half-price ($5) admission Sunday through Thursday, and kids 12 and under free every day.
Two food promotions are also going on to save a buck or two: “Feeding Frenzy,” with vendors offering discounted food between two and five p.m. daily; and “Small Plates, Big Taste,” a $3 item that could be something you have never had before, seeing as how it’s in the “Village of Cultures,” the area formerly known as “Ethnic Village.”
The fair is Aug. 11-21.
