BLOOMINGTON – A former orthopedic surgeon in Bloomington has accepted a plea deal in a sexual assault case brought by a patient.
Shaun Kink pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation of a sexual act. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the other charges against him – aggravated criminal sexual assault of a handicapped person and criminal sexual assault with force. The charges stem from a December 2019 incident where a female patient accused Kink of sexually assaulting her in her home.
Kink was sentenced to 120 days in jail – with credit for one day served – along with 18 months probation and was ordered to pay all court fines, fees and costs.
