BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man is being held on $200,000 bond for sexual attack against a woman in July of 2021.
Jayden Mitchell, 23, is charged with two counts of attempted criminal sexual assault and a less serious charge of criminal sexual abuse for an attack that happened July 17, 2021 in an apartment in the 1400 block of Trumbull, according to Normal Police.
Details including whether Mitchell knew the woman or if DNA linked him to the crime were not available, although police said DNA is always analyzed in these types of cases.
Late last month, police said a DNA match led to the arrest of a suspect in a 2016 home invasion and sexual assault in Normal.
Mitchell must come up with 10% of his bond, or $20,000 cash, to be released from the McLean County Jail.
The circuit clerk’s office said a public defender has been appointed to represent Mitchell. His arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 3.
