Bloomington Firefighters called out to Sunday night house fire

BLOOMINGTON – No one was hurt Sunday night after a house fire sparked up at 905 W. Olive St. in Bloomington.

According to Bloomington PIO Frank Friend, neighbors called them around 9:45p.m. when they reportedly saw smoke coming from the back of a three-story house. This is located a few houses away from the Wayman AME Church and the same street as the Don Owen Tire shop.

Crew found the fire mostly contained to the stairwell and second floor. It was brought under control within 30 minutes. No one was found inside the home at the time of the fire, and no one has reportedly been displaced.

The cause remains under investigation, as well as the estimated damages.

Officials from the Bloomington Police Department were called to provide traffic control.
