PONTIAC – A Creve Coeur man was arrested in Pontiac early Monday morning after allegedly evading police in Livingston County.
Fairbury Police Officers initiated a pursuit after Cameron Acosta sped through the town going over 80 miles per hour around 3:00 a.m., according to a news release.
The pursuit by FPD was terminated and picked up by the Livingston County Sheriffs Department outside of Fairbury.
Authorities say Acosta continued fleeing police, heading towards Pontiac, where Pontiac officers activated spike strips causing the vehicle to disable.
Police say he then exited the vehicle and began running on foot towards Pontiac.
Officers located Acosta four hours later on Reynolds Street in Pontiac.
Acosta is facing several charges including Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and Possession of methamphetamine, Driving while license suspended, and Resisting peace officer.
He was taken to the Livingston County Jail. No bond information was available.
