ISU Athletic leaders react to the passing of Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight

NORMAL – Athletic leaders at Illinois State University are reacting to the passing of one of the most polarizing coaching figures in NCAA Men’s basketball history.

Bob Knight, best known for his on-court antics, racked up three national championships passed away earlier this week at his Bloomington, Ind. home.

“His impact on the game, his impact on his players, and I think there was a lot of stuff that he impacted off the floor that he didn’t get as much notoriety for. But, I was always a big fan of his coaching methods for the most part,” said second-year ISU Men’s basketball Coach Ryan Pedon on WJBC.

During his career, Knight coached for Indiana, Army and Texas Tech.

“I read his books. As a coach, I thought he was brilliant and when you talk about coach fundamentals as a sport, I don’t think there was any better,” said ISU Football Coach Brock Spack, who is one win away from 100 wins.

Knight was 83-years old.
