BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department is investigating two shots fired incidents that transpired on Wednesday.
An officer heard shots being fired near their location at 6:45 Wednesday night. An additional investigation led to the 800 block of South Summit Street, where officers located evidence that a shooting had taken place.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the shooting, but property damage did occur. There have been no arrests made at this time.
Later Wednesday evening, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Bloomington police officers were sent to the 900 block of North Oak Street, where several callers reported hearing gun shots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence that a second shooting had occurred.
No arrests were made as several properties were damaged in the shooting, though no injuries have been reported as a result.
“Thankfully, there were no injuries as a result of these incidents. We take violent incidents very seriously and they have no place in our community,” said Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington.
“Work with us to combat violence by submitting any tips to the investigating detective or by anonymously texting our Tip411 system,” Simington added.
The circumstances behind these incidents are still pending investigation by the Bloomington Police Department. Anyone with information should contact BPD.
