BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County jury handed down a guilty verdict against a man they say shot a Bloomington man nearly a dozen times.
It took nearly three and a half hours for jurors to decide the fate of Kentrell Brown, 21, who faced multiple counts of first-degree murder.
During the case, McLean County Prosecutors outlined how Brown had shot and killed Natwan Nash, 26, in 2021.
“While nothing we do in the courtroom will ease the pain of the loss of a loved one, it is our hope that this will provide some peace to the victim’s family and friends,” said McLean County State’s Attorney Erika Reynolds.
With the guilty verdict, Brown is eligible for 45 years up to life in prison.
Judge Jason Chambers set a sentencing hearing for April 1 in a McLean County courtroom.
Brown remains behind bars at the McLean County jail.
