Pekin man dead after single vehicle crash

PEKIN – Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said that a Pekin man is dead after a single-vehicle crash at approximately 9:56 p.m. on Monday.

According to Hanley, 22-year-old Clay Harper was pronounced dead at the scene near Furrow and Pfanz Roads in rural Pekin.

The preliminary autopsy shows that the death was caused by multiple blunt-force trauma.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices.
