LINCOLN – Besides guiding her team to an IHSA Class 3A State Championship, a 5-foot-9 senior basketball standout at Lincoln High School now has another accolade to add to her trophy case.
Lady Railsplitter standout Kloe Froebe secured her spot as the best in the state with the Gatorade Illinois Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
The award honors the top high school athletes across the state for their work on the court, classroom, and in the community.
In her senior season, Froebe guided the Lady Railsplitters to a perfect 38-0 record, averaging 28.7 ppg, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 steals, and 4.8 assists per game.
Froebe also stands out in the classroom with a 4.92 GPA and ranks number one in her class.
Froebe received a full-ride scholarship to play basketball at Colorado State University in the fall.
On top of receiving the honors, Froebe also receives a grant to donate to a social impact partner.
