20-year old Woman dies in rural Tazewell county accident

TAZEWELL COUNTY – A 20-year-old woman died in a car accident in rural Tazewell County Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to U.S. Rt. 24 and Grosenbach Rd. intersection around 5 a.m.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said the woman died two and a half hours later at the scene.

The woman’s name is being withheld while her family is notified.

Officials plan an autopsy for Wednesday afternoon.

The accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
