Winning $552 Million lottery ticket bought in Illinois

BLOOMINGTON – A lucky Illinois lottery player won big Tuesday night.

According to a Mega Millions news release, someone in Illinois bought the winning $552 million jackpot ticket. They did not specify where in the state the ticket was bought.

The winning numbers were 19, 37, 40, 63 and 69 with the Mega Ball being 17.

This is the second time the Mega Millions jackpot was won this year, the last time was the $1.128 billion jackpot that was won in New Jersey on March 26.

944,852 tickets won lesser prizes on Tuesday, including two that won $1 Million prizes by matching the five white balls in California and Maryland.

After this win the prize resets to $20 million. The next Mega Millions drawing will be held on Friday night.
