SPRINGFIELD – A Morton man, who previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Reditus Laboratories, faces new charges, this time relating to healthcare fraud.
In an indictment, Federal Prosecutors allege that Aaron Rossi, 40, of Morton, allegedly committed healthcare fraud during the pandemic.
Prosecutors allege Rossi, who operated the COVID-19 testing site at the Interstate Center in Bloomington, charged the state and insurance companies for the PCR tests.
Authorities allege Rossi established policies and procedures at Reditus that benefitted him financially and defrauded healthcare providers.
Rossi previously pleaded guilty to charges of filing false federal tax returns and taking funds from his former employer, Central Illinois Orthopedic Surgery in Bloomington.
Due to multiple bond violations, Rossi has been in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service since September 2023.
If Rossi is found guilty on the new charges, he could face up to 10-years in prison on each count.
Rossi’s case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Springfield.
