EUREKA – A 28-year-old Eureka man stands accused of allegedly beating a child with a belt and his fists.
Last Friday, local authorities and the Department of Children and Family Services responded to Carle Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Once at the scene, authorities allegedly found the child with bruising all over his body, including his arm, back, inner thighs, feet, and stomach.
A statement of arrest indicates the child also had a swollen left eye.
Police arrested the child’s parent, Logan Lowery, for aggravated battery to a child and aggravated domestic battery.
In a bond hearing over the weekend, a judge ordered Lowery to remain in custody until his trial.
Lowery remains behind bars in the Woodford County Jail.
