NORMAL – The Normal Police Department on Tuesday arrested a teen for his alleged involvement in a shooting on July 20 that left one injured.
According to a Tuesday Normal police news release, Normal and Bloomington police departments arrested a teen at about 5 p.m. on Monday. Agents with the US Marshals Task Force assisted in the arrest.
The shooting occurred on Traders Circle in Normal just after midnight on July 20, when police received a “Shots-fired” call.
When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. He remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
McLean County prosecutors filed charges Tuesday against the teen for one count each of attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a handgun while under 18 years old.
