BLOOMINGTON – Toys for Tots of McLean County is introducing a “Santas of Summer Parking Lot Party.”

“We’re in the Midwest. What do we do best in the Midwest? Let’s throw a parking lot party,” Coordinator Troy Zeigler said.

The organization is hosting a free party this Saturday at Lil Beaver Brewery and will collect monetary and check donations and new unwrapped toys says Zeigler.

He spoke with WJBC’s Scott Miller.

“It’s open to the community and lets have some fun. If you have a little extra change in your pocket, go throw it in the donation bucket,” Zeigler said.

“We just feel that this is a thank you to the community for everything that they have done in the past.”

In 2023, 21,000 toys were given to 5,000 kids. This included kids from 10 schools, seven service agencies, three foster programs and family sign-ups.

The afternoon will be filled with live performances from Semi-Sweet, Off the Record, John Perry, Speed of Sound, Jack Dupp & The Empty Bottles.

The event is this Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Lil’ Beaver Brewery located at 5 Finance Drive in Bloomington.
