BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington resident and longtime representative for the United Steel Workers has announced his candidacy for the McLean County Board’s 9th district.
Sean Fagan has lived in the South Hill neighborhood since 1988. Recently, he celebrated 25 years as a pension and insurance advocate at the Bridgestone tire plant.
“I am running for the McLean County Board because I care deeply about my community,” Fagan said in a statement, “and we need fresh representation in District 9 that will focus on reducing the cost of living and strengthening our local economy.”
According to Fagan’s campaign’s website, he would focus on spending taxpayer money efficiently while investing in infrastructure like roads and water lines. He also expressed support for police and first responders, saying it was important to provide them with “the resources they need to keep residents safe and healthy.”
Fagan will be on the ballot for the general election on November 5. Early voting begins on September 26.
