Boy injured after falling off ride at Morton Pumpkin Festival

MORTON – The Morton Pumpkin Festival reported that a boy was injured while getting off a ride on Thursday.

According to a post from the festival, a 6-year-old was injured while taking part in the festival’s Annual Pumpkin & Pals event.

A witness on the scene reported that the boy was riding the Sizzler with his adult aid when he became agitated. While the adult aid attempted to calm the boy down, the ride operator began to shut down the ride.

The boy allegedly jumped from the ride while it was slowing down. The 6-year-old was transported to a local hospital.

The festival posted that its thoughts and prayers are with the boy and his family.
