Normal’s Self-Service Electronic Recycling

NORMAL – A self-service electronics recycling drop-off will be available for McLean County residents on Oct 5. from 8 a.m. to noon and the first Saturday of each month.

According to the Town of Normal, this will be in addition to the regular drop-off that is available Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The drop-off location is the Town of Normal Public Works, located at 1301 Warriner Street, Normal, Illinois. There will be signage that indicates where to put different types of electronics.

“Drop-offs may include computers, monitors, electronic keyboards, televisions, scanners, fax machines, copiers, cell phones, video recorders, cameras and more. The items do not need to be in working order to be recycled,” Waste Removal Supervisor Danny Edwards said.

Refrigerators and dehumidifiers are not accepted, as well as other electronics that use freon. An updated list of acceptable electronics can be found on the town of Normal’s website. They ask you not to drop off electronics outside of published hours.

The drop-off is only for residents of McLean County and is also not available for businesses to drop off electronics.
