CENTRAL ILLINOIS – Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois has received money to help unemployed, under-employed and dislocated workers.
The $15,000 Community Impact grant was given to Goodwill by Community Foundation of Central Illinois.
The money aims to help people overcome any barriers they may face while trying to find work, including paying for uniforms, boots and transportation costs among other things.
“These funds add even more to our free services,” said Don Johnson, who is Goodwill’s president and CEO. “Thank you to Mark Roberts and everyone at CFCI for assisting us while we assist our community.”
Goodwill serves 21 counties within Illinois and funds their free programs through the sale of donated items according to their release.
