Mackinaw man dead after Monday fire

MACKINAW – Authorities say a man is dead after a shed fire in Mackinaw on Monday.

According to the Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley, Nathan Robertson, 43 was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. The preliminary autopsy shows that he died from inhalation of smoke and soot due to the fire.

Crews responded to the scene of the fire at 6:43 p.m.

This incident remains under investigation by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
