NORMAL – Rivian Automotive announced on Friday that an earlier parts shortage this year is no longer limiting its production.

The company announced in a news release that they had produced almost 49,500 vehicles and delivered over 51,500 vehicles in 2024 and the company produced over 12,700 vehicles at the manufacturing facility in Normal in the fourth quarter.

These numbers were on track with what the company hoped their 2024 numbers would be as they wanted to produce 47,000 to 49,000 and deliver between 50,500 to 52,000, the release said.

The company has not announced its 2024 fourth-quarter financial results but says it will do, so after the stock market closes on Feb. 20, it said.

They will also be hosting an audio webcast the same day to discuss their 2024 performance as well as an outlook for the business, the release said.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
