BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting Monday that sent one person to the hospital.
Cheonte Hinkle, 29, was booked into the McLean County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of between 500 to 2,000 grams of marijuana.
Bloomington Police spokeswoman Bryce Janssen said he wasn’t sure what charges, if any, had been levied against Hinkle in court.
At about 5:20 p.m., officers were called to the 300 block of Riley Drive on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man who with an apparent gunshot wound, Janssen said. He was brought to an area hospital with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.
His condition wasn’t immediately known Tuesday.
Officers got a search warrant for a nearby apartment and went inside. There, they allegedly found eight firearms and drugs, Janssen said.
