Peoria County Coroner identifies man killed in Tazewell County crash

TAZEWELL COUNTY – A Peoria man has been identified as the person who died in a crash in Tazewell County Friday evening.

Deontay Page, 22, was identified as the man who had been pronounced dead after he was transported to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center following the crash, Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said in a Facebook post.

A 911 call was received at 6:56 p.m. Jan 31 regarding a two-vehicle crash with someone trapped in a vehicle, located near the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Bartruff Lane about seven miles northeast of Pekin, he said.

Page was taken to Saint Francis, but he was unresponsive, had no pulse, and was not breathing. He was pronounced dead less than an hour after cops arrived at 7:46 p.m., Harwood said.

No information was made available about the injuries of the other driver.

The Tazewell County Sheriff is still investigating the cause of crash, Harwood said.
