BLOOMINGTON – A person is dead after an officer-involved shooting near the 700 block of Fairmont Drive in Bloomington on Tuesday.
According to Bloomington Officer Bryce Janssen, at approximately 4:45 p.m. officers were dispatched on a report of an armed person on the scene.
Officers made contact with a person on the scene and as the call progressed, the officers fired and struck the person. Life-saving measures were taken, but they were pronounced dead on the scene by the McLean County Coroner, Janssen said.

No officers were injured during this incident.
This incident is under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
