Lahood says the debate is on

PEORIA – Democratic Congressional Candidate Rob Mellon announced earlier this week that his 18th district republican opponent Darrin Lahood had backed out of an upcoming television debate. Lahood tells WJBC’s Terry James the debate is on for August 27th.

“I think part of the complication was they didn’t want to do the debate in September because of programming on WEEK so we gave them four dates at the end of August to do it aand have been very open about that,” said Lahood. “My understanding is August 27th is the date. We look forward to doing that debate and being fully engaged.”

Lahood is also saying that he supports term limits. He says four to eight terms is a good amount of time to go to Washington, be effective, and not become a career politician.
