BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has been sentenced to eight years behind bars for stealing several thousand dollars worth of copper from a decommissioned residence hall at Illinois State University.
Jacob Schultz, 31, pleaded guilty to felony theft and burglary charges earlier this week. Illinois State is seeking restitution of almost $90,000 for the copper that was stolen.
Tyler Reinitz, 31, faces burglary charges for the same incident in September 2014. He’s due in court again in October.
