Cardinals, CornBelters, ISU soccer opener on WJBC

The St. Louis Cardinals start a 10-game road swing on Friday night with a visit to Petco Park to play the San Diego Padres.

Lance Lynn (10-7) goes against rightander Andrew Cashner (4-12) of the Padres.

WJBC has all the play-by-play starting at 8:15 p.m. on the Cardinals Radio Network.

Nick McClintock and Jim Ahart will take you up to the game with Sportstalk starting at 6 p.m. Listen live on WJBC and WJBC.com.

The Illinois State soccer team opens the 2015 campaign with a pair of Big Ten opponents this weekend. The Redbirds will travel to Ohio State for a 6 p.m. match Friday, before welcoming Illinois to Adelaide Street Field Sunday at 7 p.m.

ISU is under the direction of first-year head coach Eric Golz, after finishing 16-6 and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second-consecutive season in 2014. ISU went undefeated against Missouri Valley Conference opponents last season and won its fourth-consecutive MVC Tournament title.

The Normal CornBelters return home to open a weekend series against the Frontier Greys, the Frontier League’s traveling team.
