NORMAL – Marcfirst will be the beneficiary of a special fundraiser at the Normal CornBelters game Thursday night.
The Twin Cities based organization works with developmentally disabled children and adults. CornBelters spokesman Mike Rains aid fans in attendance will be able to bid for the jerseys in a silent auction.
“When your purchase your jersey, whatever jersey it may be, the winner of each one will be able to go on the field after the game, meet the player, take their jersey off their back,” he said.
Rains said it’s hard to say how much they hope to raise, but the more the better.
“Anything that we can do to show, ‘Hey we’re here. We support the community that we are a part of, because they support us, is something that we want to be a part of,” Rains said.
Gates open at the Corn Crib at 5:35 p.m. Thursday night. The game is set to start at 6:35 p.m.
