Ronald Claire Tucker, 78, of Stanford passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Sep. 12 at his residence.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Dr. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the memorial home.

Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Memorials may be made to Stanford Ambulance Service or First Baptist Church in El Paso.

Ronald was born on Jan. 15, 1937 in Macomb, a son of Ferald Claire and Lucille Havens Turner. He married Lillian “Marie” Grubb on June 9, 1956 in El Paso.

Surviving is his wife, Marie Turner of Stanford; 3 sons, Tim (Cindy) Turner, Greg (Renee) Turner and Andy (Jami) Turner; 12 grandchildren, Brian Turner, Mary Beth Starnes, Alexa McLelland, Wesley Turner, Christina Nirenstein, Jessica Turner, Nichole Hoffman, Ashley Turner, Jacob Turner, Braelynn Turner, Alex Wheeler, Mackenzie Wheeler, Tyler Schenkel and Sarah Schenkel; five great grandchildren; sister in-law, Barbara “Bobbie” Grubb; two brothers in-law, William “Bill” (Carole) Grubb and Erman “Scooter” Mize; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Mize; and a brother in-law, Glenn Grubb.

Ronald was employed at State Farm Insurance as a computer analyst for 22 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Stanford Presbyterian Church and Cross Wings Flying Club.

Ronald was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Betty Baer

Betty Darlene Baer, 85, of Fairbury, passed away at 7:25 p.m. Sep. 12 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

She was born May 18, 1930 in Joliet, the daughter of William T. and Dorothy Olson Foster. Betty married Harvey H. Baer on April 30, 1950 in Pontiac. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2004.

Betty is survived by a sister, Carolyn Maddox, Ky. and a brother, Kerry (Carol) Foster, Pontiac, three daughters, Marcy Ballenger, Towanda, Suzette (Donald) Klemme, Normal, and Dawn Bolliger, Fairbury, six grandchildren, Cory (Rachael) Ballenger, Jairon (Lezlie) Ballenger, Heather (Keith) Smith, Adam (Erin) Bolliger, Nicholas (Michelle) Bolliger, and Danielle (Lance Mowery) Bolliger, and 13 great grandchildren, Kathryn Andrews, Elizabeth Wayne, Dakota Ballenger, Brianna Ballenger, Justin Ballenger, Jaidan Ballenger, Jace Ballenger, Jehtt Ballenger, Kyler Mann, Kaden Smith, Elijah Mowery, Urban Mowery and Gertrude Mowery.

Betty was a self-employed beautician in Fairbury for many years. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, belonging to the Fairbury Garden Club, Home Extension, the Red Hat Society, and the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Church.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. The family suggests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
