Former ISU basketball player John Jones signs pro contract in Bolivia

TARIJA, Bolivia – Former Illinois State men’s basketball forward John Jones has signed a contract to play professionally in Bolivia for Vikingos Tarija.

Located in Tarija, Bolivia, Vikingos Tarija competes in Libobasquet and Liga Sudamericana. Vikingos Tarija won the Libobasquet championship in 2015.

A St. Michael, Barbados, native, Jones averaged 4.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game during his two-year playing career at Illinois State. As a senior, Jones played in 33 games and made five starts.

Jones is the second 2015 Illinois State graduate to sign a professional basketball contract. His former teammate, Daishon Knight, inked a deal in August to play for BC Šiauliai in Šiauliai, Lithuania.
