NORMAL – Illinois State University has been named a top school in the 2015 Military Advanced Education Guide to Colleges and Universities.
Judy Curtis is the Military Coordinator for Illinois State University and explains what that means.
"It allows up to get our name out there to service members and active duty personnel who are actually looking to go back to college or start college and provides them some general information as to what we can offer them here at ISU," said Curtis.
Curtis said the university was asked to answer a survey to see if they qualified for the MAE guide.
She says the school can help a member of the military make important changes to become a student.
"To that end help them with that transition," said Curtis. "We also offer a veteran's seminar where new student veterans can enro1l in a one hour 18 week course that helps them navigate resources on campus, resources in the community."
Illinois State University has also been named a military friendly school.
