Quinn requests frequent flier miles for wounded soldiers

CHICAGO – Anyone who has stored up frequent flier miles can help an injured soldier get reunited with his or her family.

Gov. Quinn said the Operation Hero Miles Program is a great way to make sure soldiers have their loved ones by their bedside while they recover.

"After you have all of those miles, give a portion of those miles to a common fund," Quinn said. "It's great program that provides free airline tickets to moms and dads and wives and spouses of military members in the hospital so their family can come and visit them."

Quinn said he's giving up some of his own frequent flier miles to help with the cause.
