THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.- The Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball team never trailed en route to an 84-41win over Nazareth College in their first round contest of the Cal Lutheran tournament.
The Titans started the game hot and never looked back. IWU held a comfortable 43-15 lead at the half With the win, the Titans improve to 8-2 on the season.
Joel Pennington and Bryce Dolan led a balanced attack for IWU scoring 10 points apiece. The Titans shared the ball well finishing with 24 assists on 34 scores. The team shot 51.5 percent from the field.
All 15 players who made the trip for IWU received playing time.
The Titans advance to take on host, Cal Lutheran in the championship of the Cal Lutheran Tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. CT. The game can be found online at WJBC.com. It will be on WJBC AM 1230 following coverage of the State Farm Holiday Classic.
