Daniel Flynn
Daniel “Dan” P. Flynn, 59, of Carlock, died at 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 6 at his home surrounded by his family.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. He was born Oct. 7, 1955 in Bloomington, son of Richard and Elizabeth “Betty” Bruder Flynn. He married Sally A. Fleming on Sep. 7, 1978 in Bloomington.
Surviving are his wife, Sally, of Carlock; two sons, Zeke (Lisa) Flynn of Bloomington and Sam (Jessica) Flynn of Goodfield; his mother, Betty Flynn of Bloomington and three grandchildren, Hayden, Abram and Zane Flynn. Also surviving are six brothers, Richard (Brenda) Flynn III of Witt, Steve (Beth) Flynn of Normal, Tim (Mary) Flynn of Ohio, Mark (Tara) Flynn and James Flynn, both of Bloomington and Tom (Diane) Flynn of Colorado and four sisters, Kathy (Jack) Rice of Colo., Maureen (Ben Christensen) Woods of Randolph, Colleen Flynn and Therese DeVolder, both of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2002.
Dan was the owner and operator of Flynn Tree Service, a business that will now be handed down to his son, Zeke.
He enjoyed nature and being outdoors, especially kayaking. His family will remember him as adventurous and one who would “try anything once.” He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. His humor will be missed by all who knew him.
