By Nick McClintock

NORMAL- The Normal Community Ironmen continued their winning ways on Tuesday night, going to 19-1 on the year, with a 56-39 blowout of the Pekin Dragons in Normal.

The score was never really close, with the Ironmen jumping out to an early 9-2 first quarter lead, before heading into the second period, up by that same seven point margin.

Senior Alex Peacock dominated the small Dragons team early and often, despite being hampered by a nagging back injury. Peacock scored six in the first half, and the Ironmen would go to halftime with a nine point lead, 25-16.

Despite Pekin scoring 14 points in the second quarter, the Dragons were held in check for much of the third quarter, as NCHS went up 32-16 before the Dragons could come up with a basket. Pekin would make a bit of a comeback towards the end of the third period, with Ironmen Head Coach Dave Witzig utilizing his bench. At the end of the the quarter, Normal Community led by 12, 38-26.

The Ironmen would cruise in the final quarter to take home the win in front of a loud and large crowd in Normal. Alex Peacock lead all scorers with 19 in the contest.
