BLOOMINGTON – Senior guard Dylan Overstreet scored the final three points of regulation and added eight more in overtime as Illinois Wesleyan dodged Wheaton's upset bid for a 79-70 win in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at Shirk Center.

Overstreet led the Titans with 18 points and six assists, though his 18-foot jumper with two seconds left in regulation came up short, forcing the overtime .

"That's a great win," Titans coach Ron Rose said. "Rallying like that and showing the composure and making the plays to get it to overtime and taking control in overtime, I'm thrilled with this win."

Wesleyan led by as many as seven points, but was never able to put away the Thunder, who rallied for a 64-61 lead with two minutes to go following back-to-back baskets by Brayden Teuscher.

Teuscher led all scorers with 22.but missed two three-pointers in the final minute of regulation that would have won it.

Trevor Seibring added 16 points and eight rebounds for IWU. Alec Bausch had a team-high 13 rebounds to go with six points.

IWU improves to 6-2 in the CCIW, 14-5 overall. Wheaton drops to 2-6 in the league, 9-10 overall.
The Titans visit Carthage on Saturday.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
