Redbird men, women, Thunder in action tonight

After winning six of its last seven home games, the Illinois State men’s basketball team will try to win five-straight on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena and remain undefeated in Missouri Valley Conference home games when the Redbirds (9-9, 3-2 MVC) host Evansville (15-3, 4-1 MVC) tonight at 8 p.m.

The Redbirds are trying to snap a two-game losing skid. Dick Luedke, Mike Matthews and studio host Tim Lewis will call the action starting at 7 p.m. on WJBC 1230 AM, WJBC.com, the Country Financial Illinois State Radio Network and the WJBC app.

The Illinois State women’s basketball team will travel to Iowa for a pair of Missouri Valley Conference contests this weekend against teams tied for second place in the league standings. The Redbirds will take on Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. at the McLeod Center, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, before a 6 p.m. game versus Drake Sunday at the Knapp Center, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Zach Dietmeier will have the call tonight on WJBC.com at 7.

Tim Lewis will host Sportstalk before the game starting at 6 on WJBC and WJBC.com.

The Bloomington Thunder will play the first of two games at U.S. Cellular Coliseum over the holiday weekend with a 7 p.m. matchup against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Listen live on WJBC.com. The Thunder will be back home on Martin Luther King Day afternoon to play the Buccaneers.
