A Missouri Valley Conference match-up pitting Illinois State – the league's leader in rebounding margin and steals – versus Evansville – the MVC scoring offense and field goal percentage leader – is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
The Redbirds are striving to extend their current winning streak to three games, which would match a season-best. ISU (14-8, 6-4 MVC) has won four of its last five contests. Evansville (16-6, 6-4 MVC) is aiming to bounce back following a loss at Drake Saturday afternoon that snapped the Purple Aces' previous three-game winning streak.
Illinois State was led last week by junior guard DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell who averaged 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the Redbirds' victories over Missouri State (Jan. 28) and at Loyola (Jan. 31).
WJBC's Dick Luedke, Mike Matthews and Tim Lewis will describe the action on WJBC 1230 AM, 93.7 FM, the WJBC Country Financial Illinois State Radio Network, WJBC.com and the WJBC app.
Redbird Preview starts at 6 p.m.
