BLOOMINGTON – Illinois State’s basketball team plays its second nationally ranked team this week when it entertains No. 15 Wichita State today at 5 p.m. at Redbird Arena in Missouri Valley Conference action.
Coverage begins at 4 p.m. with Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews with the pregame show on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM NASH.icon. The Shockers are 23-2 overall and 12-1 in the Valley. ISU is 15-10 overall and 7-6 in the league.
ISU is looking to snap a two-game losing streak and defeat a Top 25 team for the fourth consecutive year. The Redbirds are tied with Evansville for fourth in the league standings, while Wichita State is in second place.
Meanwhile, on WJBC 1230 AM at 7 p.m., Illinois Wesleyan’s basketball team faces North Park in Chicago. The Titans are tied for first in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin standings with a 9-3 record and are 17-6 overall. North Park is 5-7 in the league and 14-9 overall.

Illinois State’s baseball squad opens its season at Arkansas State in a double-header beginning at 2 p.m., while the Bloomington Thunder faces Muskegon at 7 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
