Mitchell calls for review of child care program

SPRINGFIELD – State Rep. Bill Mitchell (R-Forsyth) wants to have more accountability for the Child Care Assistance Program, also known as C-CAP.

Mitchell will hold a press conference Tuesday to call for more oversight of C-CAP. The program is currently in the spotlight because of the reported $300 million shortfall in the current fiscal year budget.

In a press release, Mitchell said C-CAP was deliberately underfunded by the budget that passed the previous General Assembly and signed by former Gov. Pat Quinn.
