BLOOMINGTON – City Council members from ward four in Bloomington took to the microphone this week at a candidate forum.
"I live a very frugal life and hope to bring that to council. I think it's important that we focus on spending what we have and not what we wish we had," said Amelia Burgess.
Jeremy Kelley said he is against public funding for a downtown hotel, "I think we need somebody that is willing to jump in, work hard, ask the right questions, and really dig into the issues."
Write in candidate Dan Metz says he is a conservative Republican.
"I don't support an idea of us getting involved with a hotel with taxpayer money. Private investor wants to do it, good for him," said Metz.
Ron Schultz has been to over 200 city council meetings.
"People in the city of Bloomington have expressed themselves quiet clearly, they don't want taxes raised, as a matter of fact they wouldn't mind if they were lowered," said Schultz.
