12 Bloomington-Normal student athletes to sign college plans today

BLOOMINGTON – More than a dozen local high school football standouts will formally declare their college intentions on National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Receptions are planned at each school.

Central Catholic:
Kyle Connor – Augustana
John Hayes – Illinois State University (partial scholarship)
Ryan Zitkus – Illinois State University (preferred walkon)

Normal Community:
AJ DeVecchi – Truman State University
Andrew Gregory – Northern Illinois University
Garrett Hirsch – Illinois State University

Normal West:
Jacen Barron – University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire
Jack Coakley – McKendree College
Mace Julian – Robert Morris – Chicago
Dajour Forrest – Robert Morris – Chicago
Dante Ruffin – Truman State

University High:
Austin Galindo – Illinois State University

Tri-Valley:
Peyton Roop – Greenville College

Illinois State football coach Brock Spack and his staff will publicly announce the 2016 Redbird recruiting class at a National Signing Day party to be held inside the Hancock Stadium Club.

The annual event will begin at 6 p.m. with a short meet-and-greet session with the coaching staff before Spack provides commentary and recruiting insight on the Redbird prospects, with video clips of the newest Redbirds available for viewing.
