NORMAL – Illinois State head men’s basketball coach Dan Muller announced Friday that freshman forward Elvis Harvey has decided to leave the program.

“We wish Elvis the best moving forward, and we will continue to help him as much as we can,” Muller said.

A South Bay, Florida, native, Harvey did not appear in an Illinois State game after opting to redshirt for the 2015-16 season.

“I have decided to leave the basketball program so I can focus on some personal things and to also move closer to home,” Harvey said. “I want to thank the University and the coaches for all they have done for me here, and it will not go unappreciated.”

Harvey signed with Illinois State in the spring of 2015 after attending Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
