NORMAL – The Normal Rotary Club has named Linda Healy the George Wolf Rotarian of the Year.
The award is named for a onetime Normal Rotary President and District Governor.
Linda has been a member of Normal Rotary since March 2003. She was president of Normal Rotary in 2011-12. At the District level, she is the chair of the District Conference Committee. She is also the chair for disaster relief, responsible for enhancing disaster awareness and helping respond to and recover from disaster.
Linda is a Paul Harris Fellow, Plus 1 stone, recognizing her support of The Rotary Foundation. In 2015, she was named to the Normal Rotary Club Hall of Honor. She represents Normal Rotary in the Bloomington-Normal Friends Forever Peace Camp and on the Promise Council for Oakdale Elementary School. She serves on the Normal Rotary Foundation board.
In her professional life, Linda is the event coordinator for WGLT, the public radio station at Illinois State University.
Normal Rotary President Andy Copenhaver also announced that David Taylor has been named Normal Rotary’s New Rotarian of the Year. David is on the club Board of Directors and is a magnet for club fines due to his work with the McLean County United Way.
The Normal Rotary Club is devoted to service in the community and throughout the world. The club meets at noon Wednesdays in ISU’s Bone Student Center.
