Red Shield classic is the second major fund raiser for Salvation Army

BLOOMINGTON – With the current state budget stalemate Bloomington-Normal Salvation Army Spokeswoman Angie Fulton says you sponsorship is needed for the annual Red Shield Classic.

The golf event is held at The Den at Fox Creek June 3rd.

“We do some course games, we have some food from Biaggis which is delicious ,” said Fulton. “It’s just a great day and a great way to raise some money and do something that is a little different from bell ringing.”

The is the second largest fund raiser for the Bloomington-Normal Salvation Army. Fulton says it’s important that they raise a lot of money as the proceeds go to keep the Safe Harbor shelter running.
