CHICAGO – Gov. Bruce Rauner is for the first time weighing in on the presidential race.
Rauner said on Monday he would back frontrunner Donald Trump if he wins the Republican nomination. Rauner didn’t comment on any of the candidates, but said he’ll back whoever the nominee is. He added the process is still in mid-stream.
Rauner, a first-term governor, is head of the Republican party in Illinois. Trump won the Illinois primary last week.
