IWU football names new offensive coordinator

BLOOMINGTON – Reed Hoskins has been named as the new offensive coordinator, recruiter and strength coach for the Illinois Wesleyan football team, IWU head coach Norm Eash announced today.

Hoskins spent the last five seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, where he was also an instructor in the university’s exercise & sport science department.

From 2008 to 2010, Hoskins was the passing game coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at Wartburg College. In Hoskins’ three seasons at Wartburg, the Knights went 26-8 and won Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in 2008 and 2010. Wartburg advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals in 2008.
In 2008, Wartburg led the IIAC in passing offense (3,036 yards) and pass efficiency (134.5) while setting school records for passing yards, pass completions and receiving yards. In 2009, Wartburg led the conference in total offense (412.0) and in 2010, the Knights were second in the league in total offense per game (384.0 yards), third in scoring per game (31.6 points) and set single-game school records for passing yards and touchdowns in a game.

Hoskins also served as Wartburg’s recruiting coordinator since 2009, responsible for recruiting in Central Iowa, South Chicago Suburbs, and Southern Minnesota.

A 2006 graduate of Wartburg, Hoskins was an assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College (2006-07) and St. Cloud State University (2007-08).

Eash also added a wealth of football knowledge and experience to his coaching staff in the addition of former Bloomington High School assistants Rich Baldwin and Kevin Bollman and veteran high school kicking coach Bud Concklin.

Baldwin, a 1992 IWU graduate and three-year letterman as a defensive tackle playing for Eash, was an assistant at Bloomington for 21 years and the Raiders’ defensive coordinator from 2005 to 2015.

Bollmanspent 14 seasons as a BHS assistant and was the head sophomore coach and varsity linebackers coach for the past seven years.

Concklin coached kickers at Central Catholic High School from 1988 to 2014.
