Stanley Eugene McCulloh, 78, of Normal, formerly of Fairbury, passed away at 10:19 p.m., May 23 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Duffy Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Diabetes Association.
Stan was born Sep. 5, 1937 in Cullom; the son of John and Elvera (Thorndyke)McCulloh. He married Carolyn Read on July 14, 1957 in Cullom. She passed away Aug. 21, 1977. He later married Deborah Scott on Dec. 28, 1985 in Fairbury. His wife survives in Normal. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Other survivors includehis children; Janis (Roger)Friedman of Fairbury; Jill (Matt) Doran of Gibson City; Randy (Jill) McCulloh of Chenoa; Joni (Joe) Pollmann, of Fairbury; Step-daughters, Stacey (Ryan) Ballard of Alton; Tracey Colclasure of Valencia, Calif.; Gena (Roger) Harvatich of Wood River, IL;one sister, Betty Corban of Roberts; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Stan was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Bloomington. He was active in Fairbury and served on numerous boards and community organizations. He was the owner of Stan’s Clothing & Shoe Store in Fairbury.
Stan enjoyed many winters in Ft. Myers, Fla. with his wife Deborah. His family and friends will miss his “quick wit”, sense of humor and his ability to overcome the many challenges he endured.
