Work begins Monday on U.S. 51 south of Bloomington

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 13 on US 51 from Woodrig Rd. to 1.5 miles south of I-74, south of Bloomington.

The project includes three miles of patching, milling and resurfacing and safety upgrades. Milling and resurfacing is also scheduled for the I-74 ramps at Exit 135. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.

Lane width restrictions of 12 feet will be in place. Motorists should stay alert, follow all signs and be cautious of flaggers, workers and equipment using median crossovers and trucks entering and leaving the job site.

Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
